Health Information Management - this unit acts as a basic introduction to the topic of health information management. Information is the cornerstone of almost all successful human endeavours and as a consequence they all rely heavily on information management in order to function effectively and efficiently. This course has no pre-requisite requirements.
Information Management Systems - this brief introduction to the basics of computerised information management systems will walk the reader through issues of hardware, software operating systems and applications, networks and communications. A basic understanding of these issues is of considerable advantage in understanding much of the content of the other modules of the Health Informatics study program. HI101-01 should be completed prior to enrolment in this course.
